What We Do: Complete Concrete Services
The secret to concrete that lasts is what goes underneath it. If the ground isn’t properly excavated, compacted, and graded, your slab will crack, sink, or heave over time. Here’s our process:
Step 1: Free Ballpark By Text — Send photos and the property address and you get an honest range, usually within 24 hours. When the job needs a site visit, those happen on Fridays: we measure the area, assess the soil, and talk the project through. You’ll get a clear, written price.
Step 2: Excavation — We dig out the area to the right depth, removing topsoil, roots, and soft material.
Step 3: Base Preparation — We bring in crushed stone or gravel and compact it layer by layer to create a solid, level base.
Step 4: Forming — We set up the forms (the wooden borders) that will shape your slab. We make sure everything is perfectly level and square.
Step 5: Pouring & Finishing — Concrete is poured, spread, and finished to a smooth surface. We add control joints where needed to prevent cracking.
Step 6: Cleanup — We remove all forms and equipment, clean up the work area, and explain how to care for your new concrete as it cures.
Our concrete services are available throughout Dutchess County (Pine Plains, Red Hook, Rhinebeck, Hyde Park, La Grange, Beekman, Pleasant Valley, Millbrook, Amenia, Millerton, Stanfordville, Dover Plains, Poughkeepsie, Staatsburg, Tivoli, Ancram), Columbia County (Hudson, Claverack, Kinderhook, Chatham, Germantown, Ghent, Copake, Valatie, Niverville, Hillsdale, Livingston, Stockport, Stuyvesant, Clermont, Austerlitz, Canaan, New Lebanon, Greenport, Philmont, Stottville).

Q: How much does a concrete slab cost in the Dutchess, Columbia & northern Dutchess County area?
A: Concrete slab costs depend on the size, thickness, site preparation needed, and access to your property. What the ground under it needs is usually what settles the price, and that only shows once somebody looks at it. Text photos and the address to (845) 459-3859, or call, and you’ll have a free ballpark within 24 hours – then a firm price in writing after a site visit.
Q: How long does it take to pour a concrete slab?
A: Most residential concrete jobs take 3–5 days from start to finish, including excavation, base prep, forming, pouring, and finishing. The concrete then needs about 7 days to cure before you can put heavy loads on it.
Q: Can you pour concrete in cold weather?
A: We can pour concrete in cool weather with proper precautions, but we avoid pouring when temperatures drop below freezing. The best time for concrete work in the Dutchess, Columbia, and northern Dutchess County area is spring through fall.
Q: What’s the difference between a concrete slab and a foundation?
A: A concrete slab is a flat, horizontal piece of concrete that sits at or near ground level — perfect for garages, sheds, and patios. A foundation includes walls that extend below the frost line (about 4 feet deep in our area) to support a building. We handle both.
Q: Do you handle the entire concrete job or just the preparation?
A: We handle the entire job from start to finish — excavation, base preparation, forming, pouring, finishing, and cleanup. You don’t need to hire multiple contractors.
